Pill with imprint AMOXIL 250 AMOXIL 250 is Blue / Pink, Capsule-shape and has been identified as Amoxicillin Trihydrate 250 mg. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Amoxicillin is used in the treatment of bacterial infection; urinary tract infection; chlamydia infection; bacterial endocarditis prevention; actinomycosis (and more), and belongs to the drug class aminopenicillins. Amoxicillin 250 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). Amoxicillin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. Amoxicillin is also used with other medications to treat stomach/intestinal ulcers caused by the bacteria H. Take this medication by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor, usually every 8 or 12 hours. Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Drink plenty of fluids while using this medication unless your doctor tells you otherwise. For the best effect, take this antibiotic at evenly spaced times. To help you remember, take this medication at the same time(s) every day.

Amoxil 250 MG Capsule is an antibiotic that is used for treating a wide variety of bacterial infections of the lungs and airways, middle ear, sinuses, skin, urinary tract, etc. This medicine is not recommended for treating a common cold, flu, or other viral infections since it is not effective in treating these infections. This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. If the medicine is used, the infant should be monitored closely for any undesired side effects. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts than advised/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you experience any undesirable side effects. Do not stop the use of this medicine without consulting your doctor. Consideration should be given to official guidance on the appropriate use of antibacterial agents. The dose of Amoxil that is selected to treat an individual infection should take into account: • The expected pathogens and their likely susceptibility to antibacterial agents (see section 4.4) • The severity and the site of the infection • The age, weight and renal function of the patient; as shown below The duration of therapy should be determined by the type of infection and the response of the patient, and should generally be as short as possible. Some infections require longer periods of treatment (see section 4.4 regarding prolonged therapy). Children may be treated with Amoxil capsules, dispersible tablets suspensions or sachets. Amoxil Paediatric Suspension is recommended for children under six months of age. Therapy can be started parenterally according to the dosing recommendations of the intravenous formulation and continued with an oral preparation. Hypersensitivity to the active substance, to any of the penicillins or to any of the excipients listed in section 6.1. Before initiating therapy with amoxicillin, careful enquiry should be made concerning previous hypersensitivity reactions to penicillins, cephalosporins or other beta-lactam agents (see sections 4.3 and 4.8). Children weighing 40 kg or more should be prescribed the adult dosage. History of a severe immediate hypersensitivity reaction (e.g. Serious and occasionally fatal hypersensitivity reactions (including anaphylactoid and severe cutaneous adverse reactions) have been reported in patients on penicillin therapy.
